The Key Club keeps the spirit of Sunset Strip alive.
The Key Club keeps the spirit of Sunset Strip alive with a storied stage hosting the biggest names in music. Opened in '96, the world famous club has made its mark on the Strip with a wide range of landmark performances by such bands as Linkin Park, Kanye West, Prince, Van Halen, John Mayer, and the Black Eyed Peas to name a few and by partnering with SPIN Magazine to showcase the best in indie rock. And of course, everyone in Hollywood knows the Key Club owns Monday nights with Steel Panther, a wildly popular rock event famous for its celebrity sightings and surprise guest performers (e.g. Scott Weiland, Avril Lavigne, Vince Vaughn, Gene Simmons, Pink, Tony Romo). The Key Club also offers the ultimate patron-friendly experience. The main floor features multi-level sightlines, a reserved seating area and an enormous wrap-around balcony with table service and an acclaimed restaurant. For a more relaxed atmosphere, there's even a plush downstairs lounge filled with giant cushy couches, live music events and pop-surrealist art shows. It's no wonder AOL CitySearch ranked Key Club the No. 1 music venue in the city for the past four years. Yet for its abundance of VIP perks, the Key Club boasts serious punk cred as the venue of choice for the annual Warped Tour Kickoff Party and for bands like Pennywise, and Against Me! to record their live albums/DVDs. Though already steeped in rock history, the Key Club is hell bent on making more of it.
