How long have you been in business?
We have been taking photographs professionally since 1972. Our photos have received numerous awards and we have been actively involved in several Chambers of Commerce, serving on boards and committees, in our community.
What is your primary product or service?
Photography & Video Services. Family Portraits, Weddings & Special Events, Photo Restoration, & Aerial Photography, etc. We do Studio Portraits of Pets, Children, Seniors, Grads, Business Professionals, Web Site & Product Photos, Passport Photos, Id Cards, Video to DVD transfers, Digital Photo Retouching, Online Viewing & Ordering, Wedding Albums, Proof Books, Digital Slideshows, Color, B&W & Sepia Prints, etc. Family Portraits at the Beach are a Specialty.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I have always loved photography. In 1972, when I was engaged, my future in-laws ran a photo studio. I was trained as a photographer, and soon started my own business. Now, thousands of Weddings and Portraits later, I still love it.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We offer caring personal service to satisfy the needs of our wonderful clients, who in response, have written many glowing testimonials of our Photography & Video services. We have been voted Best Photographer in the South Bay by Daily Breeze readers for 3 years, and Favorite Photography Studio, the other years.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
From our Studio in Harbor City we photograph all over the South Bay and beyond. Our six children have grown up, actively involved in the business. They now have families of their own, but are still involved in Photography & Video, so we're looking forward to continued business growth, as well. (We currently have 7 GrandChildren, with more to come, so just think of the possibilities the future holds).
Provide detailed directions to your location
Our studio is located on the S/E corner of Western Avenue and Anaheim Streets, in Harbor City. Just one signal south of Pacific Coast Highway, on Western Avenue. The entrance to our parking lot is at Western and 261st.
What type of payments do you accept?
We except Cash, Debit Cards, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Personal Checks, etc. Government and Corporate P.O.'s can also be accepted, (see us for pre-approval).
Which areas do you service?
Our Studio & Gallery is located in Harbor City, but we photograph all over the South Bay, Long Beach, LA & Orange Counties, etc. We have done Weddings & Portraits from San Diego to Santa Barbara to Salt Lake City, Utah., etc., and are available for travel.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
LaMar Millett is the President and CEO of LaMar Photography & Video, Inc., and also our head Photographer. His daughter Charity, runs the business office, and his wife Joy is the Artistic Director.
What are your hours of operation?
Studio hours of operation are Tuesday thru Friday, 9:30am to 5:00pm and Saturday from 10:00am to 1:00pm, Evenings, by Appointment. We are closed Sunday and Monday.
