Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
since 1987
What is your primary product or service?
Kids On Stage, Inc. is a highly acclaimed, award winning theater arts company for kids and young adults. We pride ourselves on our high-quality and joyful environment.
Founded in 1987, performing arts program for kids. Classes (afterschool/in schools/workshops/custom), Camps (Winter/Spring/Summer plus others),
Parties (year round- all ages)
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I was in love with both theater and music and was a music major in high school.
I went on to be a Producer of commercials and music video before I became a mom of 3 kids. My dear friend started Kids On Stage and ask me to help her out with the company. Eventually with that year I took it over with my business partner Cari Derbise. It is amazing to run such a beautiful company that fulfills all my passions- kids, theater, music, producing, connecting with the community and creative expression.
I was a music and theater major back in Highschool
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Although there are other musical theater, theater programs out there for kids
Kids On Stage has a very different approach. We have kids that go into theater or movies professionally, as well, kids of all levels learn to find their voice and hit their mark. However, our approach is a non-competitive, age-appropriate, subject appropriate. We are a community of professional artists and educators dedicated to bring out the best in each player.
Administrators and instructors develop and coordinate creative, valuable and age appropriate programs.
Players develop their own creative ideas, problem solve, brainstorm, build self-confidence, and collaborate on all projects.
Players learn valuable artistic skills using our creative and empowering methods.
Players are encouraged to find their own voice in a challenging and enriching environment. Every player is welcome. Everyone is a star! Everyone has a voice!

It is amazing how you approach the kids with such creativity and respect...my child can't wait to come to rehearsals. I have seen him/her grow more confident in school and every area of his/her life. What Kids On Stage provides extends inside and outside of the class.
