The Beijing Taichi and Kung Fu Academy (BTKA) in Santa Monica, California, was founded by Sifu Jonathan (Weizhang) Wang is the premier Chinese martial arts training school in the Los Angeles area. BTKA emphasizes health, fitness, and self defense through the study of traditional Kung Fu, weapons, Tai-Chi, Qi Gong, Xinyi, Bagua, Sanda, Qinna, Duan Bing and Gong Li. Both private and group classes are offered. Visitors are welcome.

How long have you been in business?
Beijing Taichi & Kung Fu Academy (BTKA) has been in business for 15 years.
What is your primary product or service?
We teach traditional northern Chinese Taichi and Kungfu. Most of the styles are from Beijing, He Bei Province and Shan Dong Province.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I was fortunate to train under Grandmaster Jiang Hao Quan. He was a student of the Nanjing Guoshu Institute, and became a full time Kung Fu professor in major Chinese universities. I am currently one of the highest recorder keeper in Taichi & Kungfu competitions. • 22 World Champion Titles • 29 National Champion Titles • 19 Grand Champion Titles • 350 Gold Medals. • 89 Silver Medals. • 11 Bronze Medals. Also, I am a licensed acupuncturist, and graduated from UCLA with 2 bachelor degrees in economics and international relations.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
1. Our martial arts curriculum is based on the 1920's Chinese Central Nanjing Guoshu Institute's curriculum. 2. We teach many unique arts: Well Rounded Yang Style Taichi Shang Yun Xiang Style Xingyi Bagua Zhang Six Plum Flower Mantis 18 traditional weapon forms and fighting sets traditional Kung Fu Sparring
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are currently located at the Crossroads Tenzing Gym. Yes, we will expand in the future.

We are located at 1718 21st Street (The Tenzing Gym) inside of the Crossroads High School in Santa Monica. The cross street is Olympic Blvd. Please make sure to enter the gym from its back entrance (across an outdoor basketball court), since the front entrance is locked.

Currently, we accept cash or checks.
